S/4HANA migration does not fix access governance. In a lift-and-shift approach, legacy roles, excessive access, and SoD conflicts can move directly from ECC into S/4HANA, while new authorization objects and Fiori catalogs introduce additional role design requirements.
In this session, Pathlock’s Susan Stapleton and Chris Radkowski will show where access governance needs to be addressed across an S/4HANA transformation—from defining the target authorization model and redesigning roles to continuous SoD analysis, UAT, and governed go-live provisioning. They’ll also examine what happens when this work is deferred: inherited access risk, audit findings, provisioning gaps at cutover, and remediation that can delay go-live. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for building access governance into the S/4HANA program before these issues reach production.
